Crowns & Bridges
Strong, natural-looking ceramic crowns and bridges that restore damaged or missing teeth — matched perfectly to the shade of your natural teeth.
What are crowns and bridges?
A dental crown is a custom cap placed over a damaged or weakened tooth to restore its shape, strength and appearance. A dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring an artificial tooth (or pontic) to the healthy teeth on either side of the gap.
We use tooth-coloured ceramic crowns and bridges that match your natural teeth — most patients cannot tell the difference.
When do you need a crown?
- After root canal treatment — to protect and strengthen the tooth
- A cracked or fractured tooth
- A tooth severely damaged by decay
- To improve the shape or appearance of a misshapen tooth
- To cover a dental implant
When do you need a bridge?
- One or more missing teeth with healthy teeth on either side
- When you want a fixed (non-removable) replacement
- When an implant is not suitable or desired
- To restore proper chewing and speech
How the procedure works
Consultation & X-ray
We assess the tooth and take an X-ray to plan the crown or bridge.
Tooth preparation
The tooth is shaped to receive the crown — a small amount of enamel is removed.
Impression
A precise impression is taken and sent to our dental lab for fabrication.
Temporary crown
A temporary crown is placed to protect the tooth while your permanent one is made.
Permanent crown fitting
The final ceramic crown is checked for fit, colour and bite — then permanently cemented.
Frequently asked questions
How long do crowns last?
A well-made ceramic crown typically lasts 10–15 years or more with proper care and regular checkups.
Will a crown look natural?
Yes. We use tooth-coloured ceramic matched to the shade of your surrounding teeth — the result looks completely natural.
Is the procedure painful?
The tooth preparation is done under local anaesthesia. You may experience some sensitivity for a few days after fitting, which settles quickly.
How many visits does it take?
Usually 2 visits — preparation and impression at the first, fitting of the permanent crown at the second.
What is the difference between a crown and a veneer?
A crown covers the entire tooth; a veneer covers only the front surface. Crowns are used when the tooth is structurally compromised; veneers are mainly for cosmetic improvement.
